Projects Kraken and Pegasus
Essex Police supports two national projects working to keep the UK’s airfields, marinas and coastal waters a safe place to live, work and relax.
Project Kraken and Project Pegasus aim to increase awareness of possible terrorist and serious organised crime activity within Essex and encourage the public to stay alert and report suspicious activity.
Project Kraken focuses on the reporting of unusual activity or behaviour within the maritime community believed or suspected of being linked to acts of terrorism or serious organised crime.
This will strengthen our borders against illegal immigration and smuggling.
You can find out more about Project Kraken by watching the video above or reading the attached leaflet.
Project Pegasus mirrors Project Kraken but focuses on the reporting of unusual activity or behaviour within the general aviation community believed or suspected to be linked to acts of terrorism or serious organised crime. Like Project Kraken, this will also strengthen our borders against illegal immigration and smuggling.
You can find out more about Project Pegasus by watching the video above or reading the attached leaflet.
If you suspect it, report it
Whilst it is impossible to say with any certainty what a terrorist or criminal might look like, an individual’s activity or behaviour can become suspicious in the context of the location they are in.
Essex Police is working with its partners to protect Essex against possible threats but we’re also asking you to contact us if they see any activity or behaviour you believe to be suspicious.
If you suspect it, report it!
Report any suspicious behaviour to Essex Police by calling 101 for non-urgent matters or 999 in an emergency.
You can report non-urgent matters and find out more about Projects Pegasus and Kraken by e-mailing:
